Salary: £105,000 – £115,000

Data Idols are working with a high-growth technology business that is looking for a Head of Data to lead and develop its Data function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation at a key stage of growth, where data plays an important role across product development, commercial performance and strategic decision-making.

The Opportunity

As Head of Data, you will be a key senior leader within the organisation, taking ownership of the Data function and setting the direction for how data is used across the business.

This is a strategic and hands-on position. You will own the data strategy and roadmap, lead and develop a small high-performing team, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the organisation has the data capabilities it needs to scale.

You will strengthen the use of data and measurement within product development, improving how KPIs are defined, tracked and used to understand performance and impact. You’ll also help teams across the organisation gain clearer, more reliable insight to support better and faster decision-making.

Alongside this, you’ll continue to develop the organisation’s data infrastructure, establish pragmatic approaches to governance and privacy, and explore how AI and automation can be used to improve processes and increase the effectiveness of the Data function. These responsibilities reflect the core scope of the original brief while removing the more identifiable education-specific details.

Skills and Experience

• Strong experience leading or owning a Data function, strategy or roadmap within a growing organisation
• Hands-on experience across data modelling and analytics engineering
• Practical knowledge of data governance, privacy and data quality
• Experience developing scalable and reliable data infrastructure
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple business functions
• Experience leading, coaching and developing data professionals
